Loch Ness Monster
There are two pinball tables for Visual Pinball named Loch Ness Monster.  This one is based on an unreleased prototype of a Gameplan pinball table that was never released.  It was brought to life by Eala Dubh and is a great little table.  It is really a pity that the table never made it out, but at least with Visual Pinball it can be enjoyed by thousands of pinball fans.

As with all of Eala Dubh's tables, it has a very clean look with an attention to detail.  There are three sets of targets to knock down and a very interesting bumper setup with three stuck together.  But the most interesting thing is the big spot in the middle of the table.  While you are playing, it will sometimes flash and show a picture of the Loch Ness Monster.  It is quite cool and very much like how the creature appears in "Creature of the Black Lagoon" pinball table.

While the appearing monster is cool, it comes a distant second to the music.  The use of music in this table is outstanding.  There is a very atmospheric song that builds up in volume level and intensity.  Couple this with the monster who pops up and you have a very cool table.

About my only complaint is that there does seem to be quite a few quick sinks.  I know that it is a table's intention to make money, but this one seems cheap at times.  But you can make this claim about most of the commercially released pinball tables.

It is always great when you get to experience something that you never knew existed.  And when it turns out to be great, it is a bigger bonus.  Loch Ness Monster has gone from a table that I never heard of to one that is among my favorites.  It is one of Gameplan's best tables and while it was never released, at least they went out with a bang.  Thanks Eala for finding and recreating this table!

This is just a review of the pinball machine.  If you are looking for the actual pinball machine, you may want to check out ebay.  Click below to see if you can find this game.
